Meet Dreama Mason Whitfield – an award-winning educator, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for youth empowerment. She is the founder of DM Whits Curator of Good Thoughts, where she works to amplify youth voices and create positive change in schools and community organizations.
Dreama’s career is built on dedication and impact. She was named Project Grad Akron’s 2008 Educator of the Year and co-founded DTVision, LLC, which won the 2015 Knight Arts Challenge Akron Competition for its dreamUP Project. In 2023, she was honored as a “Woman of Influence, Power, and Purpose” by the Ohio Black Women’s Leadership Caucus. Dreama is a licensed professional counselor, school counselor, and teacher in Ohio, and serves on multiple boards and committees focused on strengthening youth voice in her community.
What truly drives Dreama is her passion for helping youth use their voices to create lasting, systemic change. She has worked relentlessly to open doors for young people to lead, from partnering with local community leaders to developing a student voice program in Akron, Ohio. As a sought-after presenter, Dreama leads engaging workshops at conferences nationwide, helping schools and organizations create impactful youth-led initiatives.
Outside of work, Dreama loves spending time with her family, especially her husband, George. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places with him. Dreama’s life and work are centered around connection, creativity, and leaving a positive impact – and she’s always ready to inspire others to curate good thoughts!
